Satan and his
demonic forces examine us, they investigate us, and watch our reactions to
their suggestions or temptations so they will know exactly where and how to hit
us and defeat us. Then they carefully add more fuel to the fire as the warfare
continues. Therefore, a person may start out light in drugs, pornography, or
whatever their problem is, and, over time, it grows into full-blown bondage and
addiction.
In (2 Corinthians
10:3-5), Paul used the same Greek word for “our” warfare against Satan and his
strongholds, where “we” are to lead a military expedition into the enemy’s
territory, going to war and battle as a commander to fight and to win.
But the battles
are not always simple. Our warfare begins in the heavens. In (Matthew 16:19),
Jesus gave us the power to bind what is already bound in heaven, and to loose what
is already loosed in the heavens. Our power and authority come from Jesus whom
we must remember as we consider that there are two kinds of spiritual warfare:
offensive and defensive.
The only way to
keep from being beat up in this war is to know everything about the enemy’s
tactics and strategies of attack and how to fight offensively.
Paul tells us in (2
Corinthians 2:11) that we are not to be ignorant of Satan’s devices, which
means his plans, schemes, traps, and tricks. Purchase the book from http://WhosoeverPress.com. (Ephesians 6:11) uses the word
“wiles” meaning a trick or a trap. (Psalms 91:3) uses the word “snare,” meaning
to be caught in a trap. In this book, we will study many different tactics and
strategies used by Satan and the demonic as well as our own strategies which we
can use to fight back.
The main tactics
of Satan are deception, to create fear and defeat, and to work through other
people. We face family members, coworkers, people we go to church with, who
seem to cause us trials and tribulations every day because they are being influenced
by the demonic and are not even aware of it. Jesus even had to rebuke Peter,
his own trusted disciple, a saved-child of God, a minister of the gospel, a
world changer, an anointed preacher with enough faith to see the lame stand up
and walk. He said to Peter, “Get behind me Satan,” because of a comment Peter
had made. Did Peter mean to do this? No, I’m sure he didn’t. He was just being
Peter, a plain-spoken, talk-before-you-think kind of person. Just as many
people in the church are today.
Satan can use this
as spiritual warfare to injure and destroy because behind these natural enemies
are the spiritual enemies who inspire their actions against us. This is how
these people seem to know exactly how to push just the right buttons to set us
off. These spirits know they have done their jobs when they hear someone say,
“Well, I’ll never go back to THAT church again.”
